The Sun Warrior
TAYAN draws from the imagery of Huitzilopochtli, the Mexica god of war and the rising sun. The radiant feathered crown mirrors the solar rays breaking at dawn. The fiery red symbolizes the sacred blood of battle, while the electric blue channels the divine fire of the Xiuhcoatl, the god's serpent weapon.
The wide circular eyes and bold symmetry reflect the eternal vigilance of the warrior: ever watchful, ever ready.
Mythic Connection
Born fully armed on Coatepec, the Serpent Mountain, Huitzilopochtli rose to defend his mother Coatlicue, striking down the moon and the stars with the Xiuhcoatl. Every dawn, the Mexica believed, he fights that battle again so the sun can rise.
The Vigilance of the Warrior.
The sun does not rise by itself. It is held up by force of will, every single morning. TAYAN is the discipline of showing up for that fight.
TAYAN belongs to ZENTRA, The Sovereign Center: the ethos of the sun, the vertical axis and conscious discipline, in Hanansaya, the upper half.
