ARTIZAN
Coming Soon
The Primal Artist
ARTIZAN is the moment when years of heavy work finally turn into creation. The hands stop fighting the material, and the material begins to show the hands the form it wants to take.
The feathered crown and the carved, angular features recall the masks worn by dancers in sacred performance, where every movement was a bridge between the human and the divine. The column beneath the chin is the instrument the whole body becomes.
Mythic Connection
In the Popol Vuh, the elder twins Hun Batz and Hun Chouen were turned into monkeys by their younger brothers. It reads as a fall, yet the Maya made them patrons of artists, scribes and musicians. The makers prayed to the ones who had lost everything first.
The Craft Remembers the Fall.
Every maker carries the failure that taught the hands. ARTIZAN is for the one who kept working until the work began to answer.
ARTIZAN belongs to RHAKAN, The Pulse of the Root: the ethos of fire, ochre and raw earth, in Hurinsaya, the lower half.
Limited Edition. 100 pieces. Never returns.
ARTIZAN carries the sacred making of the Maya artist gods, reimagined for the raw craft of modern streetwear.
